How is this different from a recruitment CRM like Recruit CRM or Bullhorn?

Recruitment CRMs are sales-side tools for tracking candidates and pipeline. This is the HR-side tool for the contractors and employees AFTER they are placed: payroll, statutory compliance, attendance, exits. The two systems can integrate but they solve different problems.

Can the same person be a permanent employee AND a placed contractor?

Yes. The HRMS models employment-type history at the person-level so the same individual can be on agency payroll one month and as a placed contractor at a client the next, with all statutory contributions and Form 16s consolidated correctly at year-end.

How does billing-vs-payroll separation work?

Two engines run in parallel. Billing engine generates client invoices using billing rate per placement per period. Payroll engine generates payslips using pay rate per contractor per period. Margin (billing - payroll) is auto-tracked and visible to your finance team without Excel.

What about multi-state PT and statutory compliance?

Each placement record has the client's state. Contractor's PT slab and statutory rules update with placement state. If a contractor moves from a Bangalore client to a Mumbai client mid-month, the slab applied to that month's payroll reflects both placements pro-rated correctly.
